How To Effectively Potty Training Boys!
Potty Training Boys Effectively!
Potty training boys takes on a slightly different meaning and approach as opposed to potty training girls. For starters, boys usually start at a later age than girls do for reasons even experts can’t explain.
Potty training for boys usually starts at the age of 24-36 months; this varies from child to child.
Boys seem to have more accidents and urinate more frequently at night than girls do, so with boys, it takes a little more work to help keep them dry.
Make it a point not to give your boy any late night fluids approximately 1 hour before going to sleep. This will give him a chance to expel whatever he has in his system before going to his bed.
To start potty training a boy you have to determine he’s ready by showing you he’s able to maintain dryness most every night and he has regular bowel movements at roughly the same time every day.
Once you think he’s ready, go out and buy him a dozen or so cloth training pants; these are the ones he will wear from now on during the day. Keep the disposable diapers handy for night time potty training. Understand there will be accidents; this is part of the learning process.
Don’t show displeasure when your boy has an accident! Instead acknowledge he made a mistake in an empathetic, loving fashion, and encourage him to do better next time.
When potty training boys, if you repeat this reinforcement of expectations while showing compassion throughout his training, you’ll have a distinct advantage over the average person who shows anger and frustration. The end result; you will be able to train your boy far more quickly and effectively!
